The Foundation for Idaho History works in partnership with the Idaho State Historical Society to preserve and promote Idaho’s cultural heritage.

The Foundation partnered with the Idaho State Historical Society in 2014 to create a $4.3 million fundraising initiative that would partially fund new state of the art exhibitions in the Idaho State Museum, which reopened to the public in October of 2018.

Find out how you can make a difference. Whether it's funding educational programming at the Old Idaho Penitentiary or Idaho State Museum, contributing to preservation efforts towards our collection of more than 50,000 artifacts, or sponsoring a new exhibit or gallery at an essential Idaho State Historical Society site, you can make history.

The Foundation for Idaho History and Idaho Historical Society are excited to bring the 12th annual Wine, Eats and Artifacts to the entire state and beyond in a virtual format!

This year we aim to raise funds to save Guard Tower 1 at the Old Idaho Penitentiary.
