The Old Idaho Penitentiary opened its doors in 1872 to some of the West’s most desperate criminals. Guard Tower 1, which faces Old Penitentiary Road on the northwest corner of the prison, was built in 1894. One hundred and twenty-six years of the elements, seventy-nine years of guards' pacing feet, and occasional vandalism have severely damaged the structure. With your help, we can save this historic and iconic symbol.

Join us on September 17, 2020 for the first virtual Wine, Eats and Artifacts. This unique experience will feature a behind the scenes look at the Tower (which is not accessible to the public) and seldom heard stories of the "Old Pen."

The online auction will be open September 10 - 24. Visit the event website for additional details and to scope out the fabulous auction items. Register before the live event on September 17 for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card!

Follow the main ISHS Facebook page and the Old Pen's Facebook page for event details, little known facts about the Old Pen and a few fun ideas to enjoy while watching the live event!
